Cobh Ramblers have today announced the major signing of former Cork City midfielder Cian Coleman. The 20 year-old was captain of the City side who won the Enda McGill Cup, and led the team into the UEFA Youth league last season.
It’s a major coup for Stephen Henderson, as his side are currently unbeaten in their First division campaign. They could conceivably be on a 3-game winning streak if it wasnt for the concession of extremely late goals against both Wexford and Shelbourne.
Speaking on the club’s website, Manager Stephen Henderson said, “Cian is an excellent addition to the squad. He will bring quality and determination to the team on the pitch and in training sessions.”
“His versatility is a bonus but also very important for our small squad. Competition for places is getting stronger and the players know that the lads not starting at the moment are ready and able when to come in.”
“We have a number of lads who are unfortunate not to have started games yet but that will change as the season progresses as we fully intend to utilise our full squad over the course of the season.”
“Cian signing is another example of our club’s philosophy of identifying and signing the best young talent in Cork. We all look forward to working with him and watching him grow whilst helping Ramblers to a successful season.”
