Wexford play UCD tomorrow night as the hosts go in search of their first win of the season, however it won’t be easy as the students have won twice, only to lose last week’s game to title favourites Waterford 2-0.
Wexford boss Damian Locke said after last weekend’s disappointing 2-0 defeat to Cabinteely, “It’s early days, there is every belief in our dressing room that things will come good very soon.”
He will look for a much improved performance on Friday night, if they are to trouble a very throng looking UCD side.
UCD for their part have been playing well, only to come unstuck by Waterford’s quality at Belfield last week.
UCD Assistant Manager Evan McMillan said, “We competed well, we probably shaded things in the first half but Waterford’s quality shone through in the second half.”
“They’re a really good side and you can see why they’re everyone’s favorites to win the league.”
“As for us we know we have a really honest bunch and they know there is plenty of room for improvement and it’s important we get back to winning ways straight away.”
