New signing Cian Coleman is looking forward to the rest of the season with his new club Cobh Ramblers following his goal-scoring debut for Stephen Henderson’s side in Saturday’s 5-1 win over Athlone Town.
Coleman came off the bench, replacing club captain Christopher ‘Kaka’ McCarthy just after the hour mark, and headed home the fourth goal of the game. The win secured Cobh’s spot at the top of the first Division table, as they remain unbeaten in this campaign.
Ian told us afterwards, “I was delighted to be back playing competitively again. My final game of last season was with Cork City against AS Roma back in November in the Uefa Youth League.”

“I had one more competitive game since then with Nottingham forest against west ham when I was on trial there a few weeks ago. So I was really glad to be back playing again yesterday.”
“It was great opportunity to make my debut yesterday for Cobh and I’m very happy to have scored also.”
He has been welcomed with open arms by all the clubs staff saying, “I feel so welcome and respected by the team and the club and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and playing my part in contributing to us achieving good things together.”
Cobh head to the capital this Saturday to face Cabinteely, themselves on a 2-game winning streak, following their wins over Wexford and Longford. Kick-off is at 7.45
