Cobh Ramblers go in search of another win on Saturday night as they look to keep their unbeaten league run going against Pat Devlin’s Cabinteely.
After their 5-1 win over a disjointed Athlone Town side last weekend, Cobh went top of the First Division table, much to the delight of boss Stephen Henderson. He told us, “I was delighted with the result, and delighted for the lads after the match.”
“Regardless of what stage of the season it is, getting to the top of the table is difficult.”
“We played with a confidence that had been steadily growing since the final series of games last season.”
“However we will stick to our one game at a time ethos and just go out and enjoy ourselves for the rest of the season starting with Cabo next week, who are in very good form at the moment.”
“We can still improve and as the season progresses we will only get better but so will everybody else. We won’t get carried away because we know it’s a long season but these lads are a special group and I’m lucky to be part of that group.”
After Saturday’s trip to Cabinteely Cobh will then face two very difficult ties, home to UCD before heading to the RSC to face Promotion favourites Waterford. Boss Henderson will be hoping his side can still be top of the table after those games.
