O’Conor looking forward to Cork clash

Paul O’Conor and his team-mates celebrate his goal

Limerick FC’s Paul O’Conor is looking ahead rather than behind after his winning goal gave the blues a 1-0 win over Bray Wanderers on Saturday night.

The Munster Derby awaits them this Friday night as a massive crowd is expected in the Markets’s Field to see a very talented Cork City side.

Limerick’s form has been very inconsistent this season, but a fine win over many people’s surprise packet Bray Wanderers will have Martin Russell’s men full of confidence for Friday’s game.

O’Conor said of Saturday’s win, “Very happy with the result. The performance in the first half was very good but we should have maybe got another goal.”

“The second half was more of a battle, but very happy to come away with a clean sheet against a good side like bray.”

On the season so far Paul said, “Been a frustrating start to the season. After winning the first game the next few results didn’t go our way so it was good to get a win under the belt.”

On his goal, “Happy to score any time but the fact that it helps build momentum for a huge game at home against Cork this weekend is a big bonus.”
