Athlone Town midfielder Conor Barry believes that good results are coming after their performance against Waterford last weekend.
Athlone lost that game by two goals to one, however they performed very well in the game and were a little bit unfortunate to come away pointless. Barry also missed a penalty in the game, which was saved by Waterford keeper Matthew Connor.
“We were disappointed after friday night, we felt we deserved at least a point.”
“We knew going into the game that Waterford would probably dominate the possession, but we felt if we were organised we could get a result.”
“Obviously I had a great chance from the spot to equalise but it wasn’t my best strike and to be fair to Matty (Connor) he guessed the right way. But we feel we can take some huge positives out of the performance.”
“Personally my season so far has been just ok, I’ve a couple of goals and assists but my main focus now is to help contribute to the team to get points on the board. I’ve no doubt we will start picking up results.”
