Blow for Waterford as Browne breaks his arm

Waterford’s Kenny Browne

Waterford have suffered a big blow after defender Kenny Browne underwent an operation this morning on a broken arm and is ruled out of action for a minimum of 4-6 weeks.

Browne suffered the injury during the club’s 0-0 draw with Cabinteely last night. He was withdrawn just after receiving a yellow card and replaced by Robin Dempsey around the hour mark.

The 30 year-old defender only rejoined the club in the off-season for a substantial fee from Cork City, and has been ever-present this season, scoring once, as Waterford sit atop the First Division table after eight games.

The club confirmed the news earlier today on their official Twitter account;
