Bray Wanderers winger Gary McCabe is our SEE AIrtricity League Premier Division Player of the week following his performance in Brays 4-2 win over Shamrock Rovers on Friday night.
McCabe 28, has been playing a more advanced role than that which he played while at his previous club Rovers. More of a number 10 role, he’s got so far forward this season that he’s now the top goalscorer in the country, with 11.
After his 2-goal performance the week before against Dundalk, he followed that with another 2-goal haul this weekend as Bray keep pace with Dundalk in second place in the table.
His first goal was a header as he ran onto a Keith Buckley cross from the right, after some good link up play by Ryan Brennan.
His second came from the penalty spot after Rovers keeper Chencinski got involved in a skirmish with Brennan, only for the referee to deem the incident worthy of a penalty.
The result keeps the seagulls on course to claim a European spot st the end of the season.
