McMonagle leaves Finn Harps

After almost six seasons, defender Tommy McMonagle has left Finn Harps. It was a mutual decision.

He featured in just nine games in 2016, all making the starting line-up, but hasn’t featured for Ollie Horgan’s side so far this season.

The 26 year-old announced his departure from the Ballybofey based club via his official Twitter account today;

We spoke to Tommy earlier today and asked him his reason for leaving, “I left simply because of the lack of game time, and I just decided it was time to move on and see what the future holds for me.”

“I haven’t decided on my next move as of yet but I’m just going to enjoy the non-hectic lifestyle of work and training.”

We also asked him about the highs and lows of his time at the club. He said, “Well in the last couple of years there were a lot of highs, like reaching the cup semi final and of course getting promoted. They will definitely be my most memorable achievements.”

“All in all I enjoyed every minute of it, and met a lot of good friends for life, and I’m thankful for everything the club has done for me. I would like to wish them all the best for the rest of the season and the future.”
