Ferrycarrig Park

Wexford face Cabinteely for the second time this season still in search of their first win.

With club captain Graham Doyle missing from the team due to injury, defender Craig McCabe has been leading the team in to battle over the last number of games.

“Obviously it’s disappointing the position we find ourselves in. Nobody wants to be bottom of the league. There’s no bad feeling around the place. Everybody is working hard and we’re determined to turn things around.”

Speaking about recent performances, McCabe went on to say, “We could consider ourselves to be unfortunate in recent weeks. We felt we should have got something from the Cobh game in Ferrycarrig Park, and dominated the game for large parts last week (away to Athlone). With a little bit of luck, the results could’ve been totally different”

Manager Damian Locke has a full strength squad to chose from with the exceptions of Graham Doyle and Lee Duffy who both remain sidelined with back injuries. Both John McKeown and Sean Eve departed the club this week.

Cabinteely come in to the game sitting in 4th place in the table having won three and drawn three of their nine games. Kieran Waters has scored 5 of Cabinteely’s 13 goals this season and will be sure to offer the Wexford FC defence a stiff test.

Kick off in Ferrycarrig Park is 8 pm on Friday.
