Premier Division Player Of the Week – Jamie McGrath (Dundalk)

Dundalk’s Jamie McGrath is SSE Airtricity League Premier Division Player of the Week, after his performance in Dundalk’s 4-0 win over Sligo Rovers at Oriel Park on Friday night.

McGrath 20, only joined the 3-in-a-row champions at the beginning of the season, but is now starting to show his true potential. He’s made seven starts this season, but up to Friday night had yet to score.

He opened the scoring just after half time when he out-muscled Tobi Adebayo Rowling to shoot home. His second goal came compliments of his team-mate Michael Duffy, after he found him with a cross.

He finished off his hat-trick in added time from the penalty spot.

McGrath, who isn’t the club’s regular penalty taker, told the Irish Sun “Ciarán Kilduff is normally the man to put it away but he said, ‘Here you go, get your hat-trick.”
