“We have the best fans in the league, fact!” says Shamrock Rovers goalkeeper Tomer Chencinski

Shamrock Rovers goalkeeper Tomer Chencinski has claimed that the Shamrock Rovers supporters are the best in the league. Whether that’s true on not is for another day, but the Israeli-born keeper is certainly feeling the love out in Tallaght.

He told us, “I am really enjoying my time here. The team-mates, coaching staff and entire club have really supported me. The fans are also absolute class and have always continued to stand behind us. We have the best fans in the league, fact!”

“Our entire set up here is fantastic. From the coaching staff down, a strong foundation is being built for the future, and that’s incredible to see. I am really happy to be here and to be part of this family.”

After Rovers beat Galway United 2-0 on Monday night, Chencinski’s third league clean sheet of the season, he told us how important the win was, “I feel that Monday nights match was a vital three points. “To be fair the beginning of the match was a bit flat, but we worked ourselves into the game.”

“I think that we were the more dominant team for the entire match. We controlled the match very well, and even when it was frustrating at times, we just continued pushing and playing our game.”

“The three points are massive. We started this second round very well and we need to continue it now.I feel that we have come into ourselves the last few weeks and are really are finding our rhythm.”

After only one defeat in five league games Rovers now look forward to facing the country’s best team, Cork City, in a sold-out Turners Cross on Friday evening.
