Today that striker was Ryan Masterson. Masterson joins the club from Hyde United. Hyde United play in the Northern Premier League Division One, the 8th rung of the English Football pyramid.
Having progressed through Cherry Orchard as a youth, Masterson joined the Hyde United youth academy where he made a name for himself as a prolific goalscorer at both youth and reserve level.
The Dubliner signed senior terms in 2014 and he went on to score six times in 22 appearances making him the club’s third highest scorer for the season.
Since joining the Drogs on trial, Masterson recently lined out for Drogheda in a friendly against a Republic of Ireland Under-21 side before agreeing terms with the club earlier this week.
Masterson may be available for Drogheda United’s home clash with Derry City tomorrow night should the club receive international clearance in time.
