Premier Division Player of the Week- Danny Morrissey (Finn Harps)

Finn Harps striker Danny Morrissey is theleagueofireland.com SSE Airtricity League Premier Division Player of the Week after his performances in wins over St Patrick’s Athletic and Limerick.

Morrissey scored three goals during the two games as Ollie Horgan’s men moved from bottom of the table to eighth.

Morrissey said after Monday’s win, where he scored twice, over St Pats, “I was thrilled with the header and the second goal was more of a mix up at the back for Pats, and luckily I was there to take it. So I’m delighted with the goals, but all the boys out there dug it out tonight and got the result.”

On Friday Harps had a 3-2 victory over Limerick, with Morrissey scoring their second goal. He did however receive a straight red-card late in that game, for a bad challenge on Paul O’Connor, but that shouldn’t detract from his overall performance during the two games.
