Longford Town are on a 5-game unbeaten run after a 1-0 win over Pat Devlin’s Cabinteely at the City Calling Stadium last night.
In Neale Fenn’s fist game in charge, a goal from Daniel O’Rielly from all of 22 yards out gave them all three points.
We spoke to Daniel after the game, “The game went well. It was a different approach than what we’ve been used to but Gaz (Gary Cronin) has been encouraging us to play ever since the Shels game away and we’ve been trying to bring that in.”
“Its a risky game but in the end I thought we did very well and we definitely have the players for the way the gaffer wants us to play.”
On his goal Daniel said, “Obviously it’s nice to score a goal, they don’t come round too often! I just saw the player coming towards me and chipped it over his head, then just aimed it towards the bottom corner. I caught it sweetly, which was good because normally those ones could go anywhere.”

When asked about the impact new manager Neale Fenn has had since coming in he said, “Neal has been so positive since he’s come in, even though it’s only been a few days so very excited to see what happens over the next few weeks and months especially with the quality of players in the group. So a good night overall and looking forward to a massive game away to ucd next week.”
