Neale Fenn was disappointed not to have beaten UCD on Friday night, but says they’re playing some good football and need to take some of the chances they’re creating.

The new Longford Town boss is unbeaten in two since taking over, “Yes we’re on a decent run at the moment, Fridays match was a game I thought we should have won.”

Longford are playing some nice football under Fenn, playing the ball on the ground at every opportunity. From the goalkeeper out it’s all pass and move, something the fans are enjoying.

“We are playing some decent football but we need to take our chances, we had 5 or 6 decent chances on Friday and the most disappointing fact was that we didn’t test their keeper enough.”

“UCD can be a difficult place to go, sometimes the game can be too slow and once they get into a rhythm they can be hard to play against, so we wanted the lads to press them early and when we did win it back to keep it and not give it straight back.”

When asked about additions to his squad Fenn said, “I am still assessing the squad but think we need 2 or 3 players so I hope to have a couple of players in as soon as possible.”
