Sligo Rovers manager Gerard Lyttle certainly wasn’t a happy man following Sunday’s 4-0 defeat, and has let his side know that.
Speaking to RTE Sport after the game he said, “But at the end of the day you can’t coach effort and you can’t coach desire and you can’t coach bite and bravery and commitment, and tonight we didn’t have any of that.”
Lyttle told theleagueofireland.com “We’re very disappointed with performance on Sunday, from start to finish we were not at the races.”
“Derry out-played and out-fought us all day. Jekyll and Hyde from last weeks performance against Shamrock Rovers.”
“I’ll take blame also for the result, as I pick team and formation, and obviously it wasn’t right on the day.”
“Every game from now until end of season is massive to us and we really need to have a different mindset than the one on Sunday.”
On any other transfer activity Lyttle said, “Hopefully we will have a few new faces in this week or early next. Benny (Igiehon) will be available this week also which will be a plus.
