The footballing community in the League of Ireland has been devasted tonight with the news that Derry City captain Ryan McBride died early this evening.
The 27 year-old defender has spent his career with the Brandywell club, and scored the winning goal against Shamrock Rovers only last week. He also scored in the fantastic victory over 3-in-a-row champion Dundalk last Monday night.
It’s a huge shock to his family, his club Derry City, and the league of Ireland as a whole. McBride was found dead at his home this evening.
Wexford play UCD tomorrow night as the hosts go in search of their first win of the season, however it won’t be easy as the students have won twice, only to lose last week’s game to title favourites Waterford 2-0. Continue reading “Wexford v UCD”
